RULES.

Know what you can swing before you get to the plate.

What bat can I use?

7U–12U

No bat size restriction.

Banned or altered bats remain illegal. Wood bats are approved.

13U

-5 or heavier required.

Example: -5, -3 or qualifying wood bat.

14U+

-3 BBCOR required.

NFHS bat limitations apply. Wood bats are approved.

Playing Up

Follow the older division’s rule.

A 13U team playing 14U must follow the 14U bat requirement.

Wood bats: Approved for all SWAT age divisions.

* Corrected/re-tooled models specifically identified by the manufacturer may be permitted where the handbook provides an exception.

Illegal bat penalty.

Batter is out. All runners return to the base occupied at the time of the pitch. Outs made during the play still stand. A player is considered to have used or attempted to use the bat when it is brought into the batter’s box.
