PROTESTS.
What a manager must do when formally protesting a rule application during a SWAT game.
Judgment calls cannot be protested.
How to file a protest.
1. Notify the home plate umpire.
The team manager must verbally notify the home plate umpire that the team is protesting.
2. Do it before the next pitch.
The protest must be made verbally and the required fee paid before the next pitch is made.
3. Tournament Director rules on it.
The home plate umpire summons the on-site Tournament Director to the field to address the protest.
Protest Fee
$100 CASH
The fee is returned if the protest is ruled in favor of the protesting team.
Pitching protests.
A pitching-limit protest must be filed after the pitcher records an inning beyond the legal limit, while that pitcher is still in the game and in the pitching position. Protests after the violating pitcher has been removed or after the game concludes are null and void.
